Asparagus, Ham and Cheese

Part cooked Asparagus and crumbled goat's cheese wrapped in Parma ham and then grilled.

Beans

We sowed all of our beans, for planting out, about a week ago and they are just starting to sprout. The timing seems to be good as it too early to put them out as the weather is, literally at times, freezing and by the time they are ready it should be warmer. We sowed: Soisson, Runners, Berlotti and Haricot Vert. The runners and the Haricot Vert are for eating fresh and the Soisson and Berlotti make great drying or freezing beans.

The picture is of the Haricot and shows the peculiar early growth of all of the French beans where the bean seed splits and takes the place of the first leaves.
